Natalia Luna Ashley is the Executive Director of the Texas Ethics Commission.

Prior to being named the Commission’s new executive director, Natalia served as the Commission’s interim director. She previously served as General Counsel for seven years. Natalia has also served the Commission as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Director of Enforcement. Natalia has worked on or overseen the processing of thousands of complaints. Natalia has managed the Texas Ethics Commission’s legal division and her responsibilities include drafting advisory opinions and rules and overseeing the processing of the hundreds of complaints that are filed annually. Natalia also serves as an advisor to the Texas Ethics Commission board members and elected officials at all levels of state government who seek her assistance. In 2005, Natalia was presented with the Texas Ethics Commission Distinguished Service Award for her work in upholding ethics laws in the State of Texas.

Natalia is a renowned speaker on the subject of Texas ethics laws, which include the penal code, the lobby law, and the campaign finance law. She provides ethics training to the Texas Governor appointed officeholders, members of the Texas Legislature, candidates and elected officials at all levels of state government, public servants at all levels of state government, and Texas lobbyists. In September 2011, Natalia traveled to Honduras under the auspices of the US Department of State to talk about the Texas ethics laws.

Natalia graduated from St. Edward’s University with a degree in Finance and Marketing. She earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law.
